WHEREAS, S. Richmond Gallaer, of the Pomoco Auto Group in Newport News, is the 2015 Time Magazine Quality Automobile Dealer of the Year nominee for Virginia; and

WHEREAS, S. Richmond "Rick" Gallaer's career in the auto industry has spanned 45 years, including three decades with the Pomoco Auto Group, where he serves as president; and

WHEREAS, an active and dedicated member of his community, Rick Gallaer has supported a wide array of industry and community causes for many years; and

WHEREAS, Rick Gallaer has been a leader in his community, serving on the board of directors of the United Way of the Virginia Peninsula, the Virginia Air and Space Center, the Greater Peninsula NOW, and the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, Rick Gallaer was recognized by the Southern Christian Leadership Conference as Citizen of the Year in 2012 and received the Patrick Henry Award from Governor James S. Gilmore III in 2001; and

WHEREAS, Rick Gallaer is committed to promoting opportunities for the disabled in his community through his service and leadership of VersAbility Resources, which supports more than 1,000 individuals with disabilities every year through employment opportunities, community living, day support, and early childhood programs; and

WHEREAS, an active and dedicated member of his industry, Rick Gallaer has served his customers and his community with a generous spirit and has been an example to dealers in his community and around the Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, Rick Gallaer has served his industry as an active member of the Virginia Automobile Dealers Association and the Hampton Roads Automobile Dealers Association, including service as a member of the board of directors for both organizations; and

WHEREAS, Rick Gallaer served as chair of the Virginia Automobile Dealers Association in 2013 and as president of the Hampton Roads Automobile Dealers Association in 2004, leading all his fellow franchise dealers as their top elected officer; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That S. Richmond Gallaer hereby be commended on his selection as the 2015 Time Magazine Quality Automobile Dealer of the Year nominee for Virginia; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to S. Richmond Gallaer as an expression of the House of Delegates' congratulations and best wishes.
