                   WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            recognize the Waco Chapter of A Girl and A Gun as its members  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            celebrate the 14th anniversary of the founding of the national  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            organization on February 28, 2025; and | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
                   WHEREAS, A Girl and A Gun is a club with chapters across  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            the country and first hosted a conference in Waco in 2013; the  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            Waco Chapter was officially created in 2021; and | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
                   WHEREAS, A Girl and A Gun's chapters host events that serve  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            as successful stepping stones for thousands of women entering the  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            shooting community by fostering their love of shooting through  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            guidance provided by caring and qualified instructors who coach  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            them; the Waco Chapter meets twice each month in order for its  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            members to enjoy shooting and fellowship; and | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
                   WHEREAS, A Girl and A Gun breaks barriers for women and  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            girls in self-defense and in pistol, rifle, and shotgun shooting  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            sports by welcoming beginners to learn the basics of safe and  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            accurate shooting and by providing experienced shooters with  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            advanced-level opportunities; and | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
                   WHEREAS, The Waco Chapter of A Girl and A Gun has been a  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            source of inspiration to countless women by offering firearms  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            education and camaraderie for its members, and it is indeed  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            fitting that the members of the Waco Chapter receive special  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            recognition for their efforts; now, therefore, be it | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
                   RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 89th  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            Legislature, hereby commend the Waco Chapter members of A Girl  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            and A Gun for their commitment to empowering women and promoting  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            firearms safety and proficiency and extend to all best wishes for  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            continued success; and, be it further | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
                   RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            the Waco Chapter as an expression of esteem from the Texas  | 
         
         
            | 
                		
			 | 
            Senate. |
