R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life came to a close with the |
|
passing of Gary Wayne Burton of Baytown on May 14, 2015, at the age |
|
of 69; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on March 1, 1946, to Ralph and Edna Burton, Gary |
|
Burton grew up in a large family with his nine brothers and sisters; |
|
he answered his nation's call to duty as a member of the United |
|
States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, rising to the rank of |
|
corporal and earning the National Defense Service Medal, the |
|
Vietnam Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, |
|
among others, for his service; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Burton worked for O'Reilly Auto Parts for more |
|
than a decade, and he was employed with the J. M. Huber Corporation |
|
for 24 years before his retirement; he was a member of Coady Baptist |
|
Church and a lifetime member of his local Veterans of Foreign Wars |
|
post; and |
|
WHEREAS, A proud father and grandfather, Gary Burton |
|
brightened the lives of those around him with his humor and concern |
|
for others, and he will forever be remembered by all those who had |
|
the privilege of knowing him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Gary Wayne Burton |
|
and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his |
|
daughter, Rebecca Wilson and her husband, Dennis; to his |
|
grandchildren, Kirstin and Peyton Wilson; to his siblings, Delores |
|
Daniels, Richard Burton, and Judy Henicke and her husband, Michael; |
|
and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Gary Wayne |
|
Burton. |
