R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Citizens of Dallas have greatly benefited from the |
|
|
dedicated leadership of city council member Carolyn R. Davis; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of South Dallas, Ms. Davis was |
|
|
first elected to represent District 7 in May 2007; over the course |
|
|
of her tenure in office, she has worked on a number of important |
|
|
projects, including neighborhood preservation and protective |
|
|
zoning, economic development, and enhancement of funding for the |
|
|
arts; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Further demonstrating her commitment to the region, |
|
|
Ms. Davis has served on the boards of such noteworthy groups as the |
|
|
Community Development Commission, the North Texas Housing |
|
|
Coalition, and Preservation Dallas; for her myriad efforts, she was |
|
|
a recipient of the Allstate Community Service Award, and she was |
|
|
named one of the 50 Who Make Dallas Work by D Magazine; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of |
|
|
life for their fellow Texans in innumerable ways, and Carolyn Davis |
|
|
has helped to make Dallas an even better place in which to live and |
|
|
work; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend the Honorable Carolyn R. Davis for her |
|
|
service on the Dallas City Council and extend to her sincere best |
|
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Davis as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
