        Sabino M. Vasquez |

               WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        commemorates the life of Sabino M. Vasquez, who died July 8,  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        2013, at the age of 61; and | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
               WHEREAS, Sabino Vasquez was born December 29, 1951; he  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        enjoyed a productive 33-year career with the Fort Worth Fire  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        Department, which he served as an arson investigator and bomb  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        technician, and he played an important role in the response to  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        the Wedgwood Baptist Church shooting incident in 1999; and | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
               WHEREAS, Committed to the profession of firefighting, Mr.  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        Vasquez took a wide variety of courses to stay up to date on the  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        latest techniques and to learn new skills; he attended the  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        Federal Bureau of Investigation's Hazardous Devices School, the  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        Army School of Ammunition in England, and the National Fire  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        Academy; and | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
               WHEREAS, He was committed to education and earned a  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        master's degree in criminology and criminal justice in 2011; he  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        also participated in numerous career days at local schools,  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        educating young people who were interested in pursuing a career  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        in firefighting; and | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
               WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        gave generously to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        counsel will not be forgotten; and | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
               WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
               RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend sincere  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        condolences to the bereaved family of Sabino M. Vasquez; and, be  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        it further | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
               RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in  | 
      
      
        | 
           		
			 | 
        memory of Sabino M. Vasquez. |
