A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to firearms.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 134, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part I to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§134- Multiburst trigger activator; prohibition. (a)
Any person in this State who manufactures or causes to be manufactured,
imports into the State, keeps for sale, or offers or exposes for sale, or who
gives, lends, or possesses any multiburst trigger activator shall be guilty of
a class C felony.
(b) As used in this section, "multiburst
trigger activator" means:
(1) A device designed or redesigned to be
attached to a semiautomatic firearm, which allows the firearm to discharge two
or more shots in a burst by activating the device; or
(2) A manual or power-driven trigger activating
device constructed and designed so that when attached to a semiautomatic
firearm it increases the rate of fire of that firearm."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
