Senator Taddeo moved the following:

2 amendment)

4 Delete line 801
5 and insert:
6 (5) PARENTAL NOTIFICATION POLICY.—A school district or
7 charter school that elects to participate in the Coach Aaron
8 Feis Guardian Program shall establish a policy that provides
9 notification to parents of students who will be attending a
10 participating school. As part of this policy, the district
11 school board or charter school governing board shall develop an
12 opt-in or opt-out program that allows a parent to have the
13 option to either opt-in or opt-out of having their child attend
14 class with a teacher in the guardian program. Additionally, the
15 policy must require that such notice be provided before the
16 school year begins and must allow a parent to authorize or
17 decline to allow his or her child to be placed in a classroom in
18 which a school guardian is present at any time during the school
19 day. A school district or a charter school may not place a
20 student in a classroom in which a school guardian is present if
21 the student’s parent has declined to allow his or her child to
22 be so placed.

31 to implement a policy that provides notice to parents
32 and allows parents to opt-in or opt-out of the
33 program; requiring that the policy allow parents to
34 authorize or decline to allow their children to be
35 placed in a classroom in which a school guardian is
36 present; prohibiting school districts and charter
37 schools from placing in a classroom with a school
38 guardian students whose parents have declined such
39 authorization;
