House . . . . . ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Senator Stargel moved the following: 1 Senate Substitute for Amendment (256540) (with title 2 amendment) 3 4 Delete lines 471 - 488 5 and insert: 6 252.3569 Florida state agricultural response team; 7 emergency response to animal, agricultural, and vector issues. 8 The Legislature finds that the Department of Agriculture and 9 Consumer Services is the lead agency for animal, agricultural, 10 and vector issues in the state. Pursuant to this responsibility, 11 there is established within the Department of Agriculture and 12 Consumer Services a state agricultural response team. 13 (1) The state agricultural response team, in coordination 14 with the division, is responsible for the development, training, 15 and support of county agricultural response teams and other 16 nonemergency support functions. 17 (2) During emergency or disaster situations, as described 18 by the Florida Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan, the 19 division shall coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and 20 Consumer Services for the purposes of: 21 (a) Oversight of the emergency management functions of 22 preparedness, recovery, mitigation, and response with all 23 agencies and organizations that are involved with the state’s 24 response activities to animal, agricultural, and vector issues; 25 and 26 (b) Staffing the Emergency Support Function 17 at the State 27 Emergency Operations Center and staffing, as necessary, at 28 county emergency operations centers. 29 30 ================= T I T L E A M E N D M E N T ================ 31 And the title is amended as follows: 32 Delete line 14 33 and insert: 34 responsibilities of the team in coordination with the 35 Division of Emergency Management; requiring, during 36 emergency and disaster situations, the division to 37 coordinate with the department for specified purposes; 38 amending s. 316.565, F.S.;
