       Senator Simmons moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment to Amendment (734058) (with title
    2  amendment)

    4         Between lines 3009 and 3010
    5  insert:
    6         (6)(a) The department must annually visit at least 5
    7  percent, and may annually visit up to 7 percent, of the private
    8  schools that participate in the state scholarship programs under
    9  this chapter. Site visits required under subsection (8) are not
   10  included in the annual site visits authorized under this
   11  paragraph.
   12         (b) The purposes of the site visits are to verify
   13  compliance with the provisions of this section aimed at
   14  protecting the health, safety, and welfare of students and to
   15  verify the information reported by the schools concerning the
   16  enrollment and attendance of students, the credentials of
   17  teachers, background screening of teachers, and teachers’
   18  fingerprinting results, as required by rules of the State Board
   19  of Education and this section.
