AN ACT CONCERNING LENGTHY SENTENCES FOR CRIMES COMMITTED BY A CHILD OR YOUTH AND THE SENTENCING OF A CHILD OR YOUTH CONVICTED OF CERTAIN FELONY OFFENSES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to comply with the Supreme Court of the United States by providing for review of sentences by persons who were under eighteen years of age when they committed their crimes, and providing guidelines for sentencing of juveniles convicted of certain serious felonies.
Statement of Purpose:
To comply with the decisions of the Supreme Court of the United States in Miller v. Alabama and Graham v. Florida.
