AN ACT WAIVING FIREARM TRAINING COURSE REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTAIN VETERANS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 529 of the general statutes be amended to provide for waiver of the firearms training course requirement for issuance of a gun permit for veterans who (1) have been honorably discharged from the armed forces, (2) have applied for such permit not later than two years after the date of discharge, and (3) provide evidence of satisfactory completion of a firearm training course taken during service in the armed forces that is equivalent in content and quality to that required in this state.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow for waiver of certain gun safety courses for veterans.
