An act to add Section 33353.1 to the Education Code, relating to interscholastic athletics.

AB 3067, as amended, Gipson. Interscholastic athletics: California Interscholastic Federation: notice of sanctions.
Existing law describes the California Interscholastic Federation as a voluntary organization that consists of school and school-related personnel with responsibility for administering interscholastic athletic activities in secondary schools, and sets forth the Legislature’s intent regarding the California Interscholastic Federation’s implementation of certain policies.
This bill would encourage require the California Interscholastic Federation, and its sections, whenever they impose it imposes a sanction on an interscholastic team of a member school, to post on their its internet website the name of the school, the team that has been sanctioned, the violation that has occasioned the sanction, and a description of the sanction being imposed.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 33353.1 is added to the Education Code, to read:

33353.1.
 If the California Interscholastic Federation imposes a sanction on an interscholastic team of a member school, it shall post on its internet website the name of the school, the team that has been sanctioned, the violation that has occasioned the sanction, and a description of the sanction being imposed.

SECTION 1.

If the California Interscholastic Federation or its sections impose a sanction on an interscholastic team of a member school, they are encouraged to post on their internet website the name of the school, the team that has been sanctioned, the violation that has occasioned the sanction, and a description of the sanction being imposed.
