Legislation Overview
Title: FOID-REPLACEMENT CARDS
Description: Amends the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act. Provides that the Department of State Police shall, 60 days prior to the expiration of a Firearm Owner's Identification Card, forward by first class mail to each person whose card is to expire instructions for renewal (rather than an application which may be used to apply for renewal of the card). Provides that a holder of a Firearm Owner's Identification Card shall notify the Department of State Police within 10 days of discovering that his or her Firearm Owner's Identification Card has been lost, destroyed, or stolen. Provides that a lost, destroyed, or stolen Firearm Owner's Identification Card is invalid. Provides that the cost for a replacement card shall be $5 which shall be deposited into the State Police Firearm Services Fund. Effective January 1, 2018.
