Title: Crimes and offenses; require an owner of an assault weapon to procure and maintain sufficient liability insurance

Description: A BILL to be entitled an Act to amend Titles 16 and 33 of the O.C.G.A., relating to crimes and offenses and insurance, respectively, so as to require an owner of an assault weapon to procure and maintain sufficient liability insurance to protect against legal liability arising out of the ownership, maintenance, operation, or use of such weapon; to provide for definitions; to provide for proof or evidence of such insurance; to provide for exceptions; to provide for enforcement and penalties; to provide for an affirmative defense; to provide for limitations on such liability insurance; to provide for notification of changes or termination of such liability insurance; to require insurers to submit certain information; to provide for the adoption of rules and regulations; to provide for legislative findings; to provide for related matters; to provide for an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
