This thread will be updated on a regular basis when new bills come in for Louisiana.

Note: We will only post legislation we feel is negative or positive, those new bills which don't actually effect your rights will not be included but you can always find them on the state legislation page.

SB155 would raise the minimum age to buy rifles to 21

HB271 would allow trained teachers and school staff to carry on school property

SB185 would allow parishes with populations over 300,000 to 400,000 to enact local gun laws

HB332 would allow certain teachers to carry firearms on school property and busses

HB400 would create a mandatory 10 business day waiting period on all firearm sales

HB412 is a constitutional carry bill

HB416 would make the state a duty to inform state

HB448 would create extreme risk protection orders whereby all firearms are seized

SB274 would prohibit anyone under 21 to buy an 'assault' weapon

HB602 would prohibit teachers and school staff from carrying at work if they have a carry license

HB603 is a complete 'assault' weapon ban and high capacity magazine ban that has no grandfather clause

SB383 would create a statewide ammunition sale database

HB702 would exempt former legislators from having to get a carry permit to carry a firearm

HB473 would ban bump stocks and other trigger activators

HB277 would prohibit anyone under 21 from buying an 'assault' weapon

HB736 is an 'assault' weapon and high capacity magazine ban, it would require all 'assault' weapons to be sold or registered with the state

HB852 is a universal background check bill

HB836 would allow campus carry

SB547 would make renewing a carry permit easier
